The Angkorian Empire which started in the 9th century lasted 500 years and covered most of Indochina at its peak under the reign of the Great King Jayavarman VII or JVII for short, at the end of the 12th century. Less well known is the forested 400 square kilometer Angkor Park, which offers the chance to discover these amazing monuments away from the crowds.
